  2. Ugh, Renee! Hugs to you. Are they thinking you'll be insulin dependent now?

    I am shaking my hand at the universe for you...and now I'm giving it the bird, too!

  3. Thanks Stacie...I am in the Shit Shit shit phase. I'll be flipping the bird next. No insulin for now. Just meds. once a day.

    Hillary, A few studies have found that about 50 percent of women who get gestational diabetes will develop type 2 diabetes within the first five years after delivery. Your risk is highest if any of the following apply to you:

    * You're obese.
    * You had very high blood sugar levels during pregnancy (especially if you needed insulin).
    * Your diabetes was diagnosed early in your pregnancy.
    * The results of your postpartum glucose test were borderline (that is, they were relatively high, but not high enough to classify you as a diabetic).

    I qualify according to these bullets. I have all of them except for the last which I had a glucose test past borderline with a result of 125 when it was suppose to be bellow 95.

  4. I'm really sorry to hear this, Renee. That must be frustrating as hell. I guess that makes it more important than ever that you always take good care of yourself, first and foremost. If you're doing that, I assume it won't be too intrusive in your life? I hope not! Be well.
